Immediately after Erion Veliaj's dismissal from the Socialist Assembly and the initiation of procedures by the Tirana Municipal Council, i.e. his political exile from the Socialists, the opposition began to have a kind of "stress" regarding the name that would face Ogerta Manastirliu.

The latter, a name with heavy weight in politics, Minister of Health, Minister of Education, political leader of the Municipality of Tirana for several years, with considerable power, is a rival to be highly appreciated.

The opposition would undoubtedly be stressed about who to put up against them, because Sali Berisha himself and the key people in its leadership knew that the most important names who had received the most votes in Tirana, such as Jorida Tabaku and Ilir Alimehmeti, would not face Manastirli.

Not that it was simply a lost race, but neither one nor the other has the necessary capacities and political values ??to take over a race even when it is lost.

There have been such as in 2000 with Besnik Mustafai and then in 2003 with Spartak Ngjela who ran a spectacular campaign, in 2007 with Sokol Olldashi, or in 2015 when another name ran, a citizen with values ??like Halim Kosova.

Neither Jorida Tabaku nor Ilir Alimehmeti rose to the level of these names. Not to mention the values ??and the battle that Belind Këlliçi fought, in 2023 when the DP had neither a party nor a seal because Luli was in front and decided his candidates.

Jorida Tabaku and Ilir Alimehmeti do not have the civic values ??to take on a race, to leave a mandate, because they are simply and only minor political figures.

Ilir Alimehmeti turned out to be a coward who fought to run in 2023, but refuses to run in 2025 when he emerges as one of the most voted people in the capital.

Jorida Tabaku, who has always wanted to run for Mayor of Tirana, is not going to run against her former bank colleague, because Jorida considers herself to be too popular to be the future in politics, but in fact she is tied to the MP's chair and will not sacrifice it and the salary she receives in Parliament.

One mandate is almost 200 thousand euros in pocket money. Ilir Alimehmeti could be even more dignified if he entered, but he seems cowardly, and Jorida is very small.

They don't have the courage, they don't have the dignity and political values ??to face it. They want the DP to pick them up, to steal them, because they think they have a lot of votes, they have great values, but they don't go there to face their political opponent.

Those votes they received on the Tirana list were not received because they received the most votes and have any great value, but because it was a tactical mistake by Berisha that he put the heavyweights who were collecting votes on the closed list and on the open list, except for Myslim Murriz and some other names, there were no other names to collect the votes left on the streets on the open list of the capital.

If Jozefina, Këlliçi, Sali Berisha himself and the closed list were in that race, Jorida Tabaku would not be a member of Parliament. Ilir Alimehmeti would then have a handful of votes because as individuals the two of them together are worth nothing politically.

Now they would have the chance to show how many votes they received in the capital, and this would be good for their political careers.
