Ambassador Hohmann, blunt: There is no EU without successful justice reform!

On the 110th anniversary of the Supreme Court, the ambassador of the EU Delegation in Tirana, Christiane Hohmann, made it clear that there will be no membership in the EU if a successful justice reform is not implemented.

Hohmann said that this reform must take strong roots and that it must withstand influences.

"There is no EU membership without successful justice reform. This applies to members of the Supreme Court and for many of you it has been a long journey here. Key institutions of justice have been created and recreated. Reform is taking root, but it must take deep roots. He will have to face influences. Integrity must be shown. The vetting process continues to proceed gradually. Once this process is over, both judiciaries must hold their breath. Accountability and responsibility in the justice system must be ensured. Judges and prosecutors must fulfill their duty. Delayed justice undermines the trust of citizens" , said the ambassador.
