Government accusations about the visit to Trump's residence/ Agron Shehaj:

The leader of the Opportunity Party, Agron Shehaj, has rejected the government's accusations regarding his visit to Mar-a-Lago, where it was said that he had lobbied for millions to be part of that meeting.

Meanwhile, Shehaj, in an interview with Euronews Albania, stated that this is not true at all and that he was invited by an American senator.

"The truth is that I was at this meeting, I took photos after this meeting. I was forced to take photos of the meetings I had. It is serious how Rama attacked all the media as if I had paid millions of euros for that meeting. This is a slander, which is dangerous even for him, it is like playing with fire. The moment he says it about me, this means that he is also accusing those who invited me of having received money and not declaring it. This is a very serious accusation. The Prime Minister thought that in the US he could behave like in Albania, he took a lot of risks," he said.

Asked if he actually paid money to be at Mar-a-Lago, Shehaj explained that he did not receive any money to be part of that meeting.

"I did not pay a single lek. What the prime minister has done is simply slander. Despite having extraordinary power, he cannot even receive a simple invitation, and he must justify my presence, which I apparently paid for. Edi Rama's accusation is untrue, I received an invitation and I did not pay a single lek. I take responsibility for this, but he must also be held accountable for the accusations that we are allegedly dealing with a case of secret lobbying," added Agron Shehaj./ CNA
