The former Minister of Justice, Ylli Manjani, has reacted to the number of people imprisoned in Albania, based on the balance published recently in the media.

Manjani declares that a total of 5,200 people have been isolated, of which 3,100 are detained. Through a status on social networks, he says that the number of detainees has not been as high as it is now.

According to him, this figure shows state violence and the peak of the failure of criminal prosecution in Albania and primitive revenge in the name of force.

Out of about 5,200 people isolated in prisons, that is, where convicts and pre-detained people are found, 3,100 of them are pre-detained. Only 2,100 isolated persons have been sentenced by a final decision. This data was made public by a BIRN report.

So 60% of those isolated in prisons are without a court decision!!! Never before has the number of detainees been so high as now.

This is the peak of the failure of criminal prosecution in Albania. Practically, prison arrest has become a sentence. A conviction without evidence and without due process.

A criminal prosecution based on the political sentence "jail-jail-jail" is not justice, but state violence. Primitive revenge in the name of strength. This violence is obviously politically motivated. The reformed justice implements the sentence publicly dictated by Edi Rama "prison-prison-prison".

This violence expressed in these statistics is a massive abuse of constitutional freedoms and criminal prosecution laws. Prisons are designed for those convicted of crimes and not to convict people without evidence. Detention is designed for extreme cases, when other means have not yielded results.

State terror to create the fake idea of ??the state, these are the data.

This situation means massive legal uncertainty for citizens in these countries. Combined with the violent controls of homes, businesses, persons, including the media, this statistic reinforces the oppressive climate of the government in the name of justice reform.
