Kelliçi appeals to SPAK: Do not allow Veliaj to steal millions of euros

The member of the Presidency of the DP, Belind Kelliçi, in a statement to the media, has called on SPAK not to allow the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, to steal millions of euros from the state budget.

Kelliçi published the documents that showed that the Contracting Authority for the Tirana Incinerator, i.e. the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, for the years 2024, 2025 and 2026, has predicted for each year the figure of 12.7 million euros for the Tirana incinerator.

He stated that the documents will be submitted to SPAK and requested that the investigation be complete and that measures be taken.

Today we are again in front of you to continue the denunciation with indisputable facts, with official documents of the Albanian state itself, specifically the Municipality of Tirana and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy. The photo you see on the screen is part of the report presented for the approval of the 2024 budget of the Municipality of Tirana, which was approved in record time by Erion Veliaj, in just 4 minutes, stopping any discussion, any question and any request information, which would make the right transparency for the citizens of Tirana.

So, dear citizen, Erion Veliaj, has stated in this legal document that the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, in its role as the Contracting Authority of the Tirana Incinerator concession contract, has not provided funds for the Municipality of Tirana, for the year 2024. 2025, 2026, for this concession. But the truth is quite different. In the picture you see on the screen, which is part of the report for the approval of the state budget for 2024, it is clearly shown that the Contracting Authority for the Tirana Incinerator, i.e. the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, for the years 2024, 2025 and 2026, has estimated for each year the figure of 12.7 million euros for this concession.

The question that is being asked today is: Who is the problem of Erion Veliaj who managed to falsify legal documents of the state? Who is the problem of Erion Veliaj who officially deceives the municipal councilors of Tirana, giving another 12 million euros to the ghost incinerator of Tirana? Today I want to make a public call again to the Special Prosecutor's Office for the War Against Corruption and in a special way to the prosecutor Dritan Premci, that by his non-actions and non-investigations, he is allowing Erion Veliaj to continue stealing the state budget, even in one act unprecedented, falsifying it.

If until yesterday they could not pronounce or read the name and signature of Erion Veliaj, with these documents we will make sure that this blindness of justice ends. As we have done in other cases, we will officially forward these documents and other detailed technical information to SPAK, addressed to Mr. Altin Dumani.
