Today marks 18 years since the death of Ibrahim Rugova, the former president of Kosovo, who will never be forgotten by Albanians.

Rugova founded the political party Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) in 1989. LDK had the support of 90% of the ethnic Albanian population of Kosovo and he himself always worked every day for the independence of Kosovo through peaceful means.

Prime Minister Edi Rama did not miss a reaction to this prominent figure.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Albin Kurti visited today the family of the first president of Kosovo, Ibrahim Rugova. He underlines that Rugova "united the people of Kosovo against the occupation of Serbia".
