Archaeological excavations in the prehistoric Palafit settlement of Lin have advanced significantly.

Recent discoveries have given researchers the opportunity to understand the construction of the stilts, which extend into the interior of Lake Ohrid.

Archaeologist Adrian Anastasi told Euronews Albania that it is a settlement of 35,000 square meters, one of the largest in the Balkans.

"We managed to identify a part of the stilt that lay on the ground and the shore of the lake. We have numerous finds in wooden constructions. Until now, there is little information about how wood was worked 7,500 years ago," said the archaeologist.
