The exhibition's creator and curator, Maria Shukulli, says that it all started as a family inspiration, after a visit to an Easter egg museum in Romania. From a simple idea, the project turned into a full-fledged artistic exhibition, where every detail carries a special meaning.

"The idea was mainly born from my father, as he always had the spirit of a traveler and in Romania he came across the first Easter egg museum. From there he took an egg to see and appreciate. Since we are a family of artists, we had the idea to turn it into something more. The special thing about the exhibition is that it contains decorated Easter eggs, but with symbols, not just decorations that can be seen at first glance. The Easter egg has the symbol of a new beginning, of life, resurrection, hope and, through many beautiful motifs and extraordinary ways of decorating eggs, it manages to express this symbol. All eggs are handmade by different artisans, with wax and organic paint created from plants. A small egg can take a few hours to work on, while the ostrich eggs we have in our collection can take one to two weeks", said Shukulli.

This exhibition opens on the eve of Holy Week, bringing not only art but also spiritual reflection to citizens. For Orthodox believers, the Easter egg remains a powerful symbol of new life.

The Metropolitan of Korça, Archbishop Anastasi, emphasizes that just like the bird that hatches an egg to begin life, the resurrection of Christ represents the beginning of a new life for humanity.

"It is a special joy to be here today at this exhibition that has the egg at its center, because the egg is the symbol of life for us Orthodox Christians. Just as the bird hatches the egg from within and begins a new life, so Christ, coming out of the tomb, brought us a new, joyful life; that is why we make the eggs red. It is exciting that this exhibition opens on the eve of the Great and Holy Week of Easter. I am given the first opportunity to wish all our fellow citizens a blessed, prosperous Great Week and may Easter find us joyful," said Archbishop Anastasi.

Meanwhile, according to the organizers, the activity will not stop in Korça. It is expected to travel to other cities such as Tirana, Berat, Fier and Gjirokastra, to further convey this symbolic message.

Director Julian Napoloni describes this exhibition as a call to appreciate life and reflect at a time when the world faces challenges and destruction. Through art, this initiative aims to remind us of the importance of preserving values ??and faith.

"It is a unique exhibition, which is happening for the first time. We chose Korça because I am convinced that Easter is not celebrated more beautifully than here. After Korça, we have chosen Tirana, Berat, Fier and Gjirokastra. We bring a small element like the egg, but with a lot of meaning related to rebirth, resurrection. Despite talking about Easter and the egg, unfortunately in the world today churches are destroyed, lives are ruined. Let this exhibition be a message to think more deeply, to protect these symbols and to think more about resurrection and rebirth and not destruction. These authors are mainly girls and come from countries like Ukraine, Romania and Bulgaria, from countries that currently, with this destruction that is happening, bring this beautiful thing", - says the director.

This special exhibition has brought together art, tradition and faith, recalling through a simple symbol like the egg strong messages about life, resurrection and hope. On the eve of the Orthodox Easter holiday, this initiative comes as an invitation to reflect and to preserve the values ??that unite us, turning art into a bridge of communication between cultures and generations./CNA
