Murder of Italian businessman in Tepelena/ Suspected perpetrator surrenders

The perpetrator of the murder of Italian businessman Edoardo Sarchi in Tepelena surrenders to the police.

The media reports that the suspected perpetrator, Kamber Sulçe, has reported to the Gjirokastra police.

It is reported that the 48-year-old has also surrendered the murder weapon.

 "He was shooting in the air repeatedly, while cursing us from a distance. At one point he started shooting in our direction and we scattered. Eduardo went to close the door of my father's car, so that the perpetrator wouldn't see him. First he closed the driver's door, then he bent down to close the passenger door, when he was shot and fatally hit. We lay on our backs and stayed like that until the police arrived," said a witness to the incident.

The Italian businessman was shot dead from a distance of about 120 meters on September 26. 

Based on the investigative file, the motive for the murder stemmed from a banal conflict over the high beams of the car, between the suspected perpetrator and the son of the Italian businessman's partner. /CNA
