Two 16-year-old youths have been identified and arrested in Pogradec after they fired a gun at the apartment of a 42-year-old man.

The police found the Kalashnikov firearm that the young men were hiding in the city cemetery, combat ammunition, and a metal glove.

One of the 16-year-olds turns out to have been previously prosecuted for stabbing.

Police Announcement:

Continuing the continuous work to clarify the events that occurred previously, thanks to the cooperation with citizens, the services of the Pogradec Police Commissariat have provided information about two minor citizens who were carrying firearms and are suspected of having shot at a house in May 2025, and have organized the work for the legal documentation of this case.

Based on this information, specialists from the Crime Investigation Section of the Pogradec Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the General Patrol services, arrested and handcuffed citizens MK and JH, both 16 years old, residents of Pogradec.

During the search of the apartment of citizen MK, in neighborhood no. 1, 1 metal glove (fist booster), a quantity of combat ammunition and a model 56 firearm cartridge were found.

From the investigative actions it is suspected that these citizens possessed an automatic firearm, which they kept hidden in a grave in the cemetery of the city of Pogradec. Also, from the investigations it was possible to uncover and document the event that occurred on 11.05.2025, in neighborhood no. 1, Pogradec, where a gun was fired at the apartment of a 42-year-old man.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Korça, for the criminal offenses of "Unlicensed Possession and Production of Weapons, Explosive Weapons and Ammunition", "Grave Violation", committed in collaboration, and "Unlicensed Possession of Cold Weapons". /CNA
