They rented an apartment in Durrës for prostitution/ 2 Colombian citizens

Two Colombian citizens who had rented an apartment in neighborhood no. 18, Durrës, were arrested in flagrante delicto for practicing prostitution and selling narcotics.

The owner of the apartment is being prosecuted for the criminal offenses of "Hiding Income" and "Failure to Report a Crime", and 3 citizens are being prosecuted for the criminal offense of "Prostitution".

A quantity of cannabis, a sum of money suspected to have been obtained from prostitution, 5 cell phones and the passports of 2 arrested citizens were seized.

Police Announcement:

As a result of investigations conducted with proactive methods, over 3 weeks, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, to crack down on the criminal activity of trafficking in women, for the purpose of exploitation for prostitution, the Trafficking Investigation Section, in cooperation with the Operational Investigation Support Section, finalized the police operation codenamed "Storm 9". Within the scope of this operation:

- citizen DG, 28 years old, resident of Colombia, was declared wanted for the criminal offenses of "Trafficking in adults" and "Exploitation of prostitution";

-nationals MA, 24 years old, YC, 24 years old, both residents of Colombia, were arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offenses of "Prostitution", "Adapting premises for prostitution" and "Production and sale of narcotics";

-Criminal proceedings were initiated against the owner of the apartment, citizen VR, 45 years old, resident of Durrës, for the criminal offenses of "Hiding income" and "Failure to report a crime";

-Criminal proceedings were initiated against citizens MS, EB and AH, for the criminal offense of "Prostitution".

The investigation suspects that the Colombian citizen trafficked Colombian citizens to Albania, with the aim of exploiting them for prostitution. 2 Colombian citizens (the arrested) had adapted a rented apartment in neighborhood no. 18, Durrës, to practice prostitution. During the search in this environment, a quantity of suspected narcotic substance cannabis sativa was found.

As material evidence, the following were seized: a quantity of narcotics, a sum of money suspected of being obtained from prostitution, 5 cell phones and the passports of 2 arrested citizens.

Work continues to capture citizen DG and fully document this criminal activity.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further action./CNA
