Anti-drug operation in Mirdita/ 40 kg of cannabis seized, three people arrested

The police continue the operation codenamed "Processing" in Mirdita to crack down on narcotics.

The police have arrested three citizens, two of them brothers, and have seized 40 kg of suspected cannabis in the process of drying, 4 vehicles and 5 cell phones.

The investigations identified citizens MZ and EZ (brothers) and AR, who are suspected of cultivating narcotic plants and producing narcotics for the purpose of sale, in collaboration with citizens PM and KP, arrested 1 week ago, as part of the first phase of the operation codenamed "Processing", during which about 33.7 kilograms of cannabis sativa narcotics were seized, and 220 narcotic plants cultivated in the village of Shtuf, Mirditë were destroyed.

During the second phase, the Police services found near an old house in the village of Shëngjergj, Mirditë, and seized about 40 kilograms of suspected narcotic cannabis sativa, in the process of drying, 4 vehicles and 5 cell phones that were suspected of being used by the perpetrators for criminal activity.

At the end of the investigative actions, the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto: AR, 33 years old, resident of Mirdita; MZ, 34 years old, resident of Mirdita; and EZ, 38 years old, resident of Mirdita.

The police operation codenamed "Processing" continues, with the aim of identifying and apprehending other citizens who may be involved in this criminal activity./ CNA
