Operation in Korça/ Couple arrested, would traffic narcotics to Greece

New details from yesterday's operation where suspected cannabis sativa narcotics were found in an apartment in Bilisht, Devoll.

It is learned that a married couple who had cultivated the narcotic substance and prepared it for the purpose of trafficking it to the Greek state have been arrested.

The police seized 5.8 kg of narcotics, while further investigations into the incident continue.

"As a result of the investigations conducted for 4 weeks, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, to document the criminal activity of 2 citizens in the field of narcotics, the specialists of the Narcotics Investigation Section finalized the police operation codenamed "Phases". As part of the operation, the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto:

FS, 48 years old, and ES, 31 years old (spouses), residents of Devoll, for the criminal offenses "Production and sale of narcotics", "Cultivation of narcotic plants" and "Trafficking in narcotics".

During a search of the citizens' apartment, the Police found approximately 5.8 kilograms of suspected cannabis, which they had prepared to traffic to Greece.

Investigations suspect that these citizens, in collaboration with each other, produced the substance from narcotic plants they cultivated on their land, in a place called "Sunken Neighborhood", the police announced./ CNA
