Tragedy in Shkodra/ Court sentences Erdgys Arraz to 4 years in prison

The Shkodra Court has found Erdgys Arrazi guilty and sentenced him to 6 years in prison on the charge of "Causing the suicide" of his ex-wife, Alma Arrazi, who jumped into the Buna River along with her three children.

Due to the shortened trial, this sentence was reduced by 2 years, ultimately sentencing Arraz to 4 years in prison.

Judge Orgent Nazaj found that physical and psychological violence was inflicted on the late Alma Arrazi, causing her to suffer from anxiety and depression.

Erdgys Arrazi had simultaneously established an extramarital affair, and was pressuring his wife to leave their apartment in Shkodra.

Time and again, Ergys Arrazi took Alma's clothes out into the yard and burned them in front of her, as a sign of psychological pressure to leave the apartment.

Judge Nazaj has decided to accept the prosecution's request to dismiss the charge of "Murder under qualifying circumstances" against Erdgys Arraz, arguing that no convincing evidence was found to prove this criminal offense./ CNA
