The 38-year-old man is being prosecuted for attempting to bribe a Traffic Police officer to avoid administrative action for violating traffic rules.
During the monitoring of road axes, with the aim of preventing accidents and meeting road safety parameters, the Durrës Traffic Police services stopped a bus driver on “Pavarësia” street who was using a mobile phone while driving. At the time of the stop, he offered money to the Police officers to avoid being punished with an administrative measure for the violation committed.
Following the actions, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office where proceedings were initiated against citizen AA, 38 years old, resident of Gjakova, for the criminal offense "Active corruption of persons exercising public functions".
The Durrës Traffic Police appeals to all road users to strictly enforce traffic rules and invites citizens to report any violation of traffic rules to the number 112, guaranteeing complete anonymity and immediate response from the Police services. /CNA
