Poisoning of children in the kindergarten in Gramsh/ Police: Remaining food

Elbasan police have made an official response regarding the case of a kindergarten in Gramsh where several children were poisoned with salmonella.

In the announcement made, the police say that 6 children have presented themselves to the Gramsh hospital to receive medical assistance.

The police also announced that the food left in the kindergarten's kitchen has been frozen and samples have been taken for examination.

It is further reported that the materials have been referred to the prosecutor's office for further investigation.

Police notification

The Crime Investigation Specialists at the Gramsh Police Station referred the procedural materials to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Elbasan, for evaluation, after on 24.05.2025, it was learned from social networks that in Kindergarten No. 1 in Gramsh, some of the children of this kindergarten were poisoned by salmonella.

6 children have presented themselves to the Gramsh hospital for medical assistance and tests have been carried out on all the children and the staff of this kindergarten. As material evidence, the Clinical Cards for the 6 patients admitted to the Gramsh hospital have been seized, the Minutes of the control and supply of food products of Kindergarten No. 1 have been seized, and food samples have been taken for further examinations in laboratory conditions. In addition, the food products remaining in the kitchen of this kindergarten have been blocked. All actions have been carried out under the direction of the Elbasan General Jurisdiction Prosecutor's Office.
