Voltan and Jugert Xhani, brothers who were arrested as part of Operation Enigma in Durrës along with Xhevdet Plaku, otherwise known as "Akili", are suspected of being implicated in the murder of businessman Bujar Nasufi on January 12, 2025.

According to journalist Klodiana Lala, they are involved in the capacity of organizers and financiers.

According to the journalist, the DNA profile found on a half-burnt glove at the place where the perpetrator abandoned the motorbike he used in the murder will be compared with the DNA profiles of the two brothers.

The brothers, who are wanted for drug trafficking in the Netherlands, are suspected of having a conflict with businessman Nasufi over a property that their father had sold to them. The clash between them was intense and ongoing.

After the DNA profile was revealed, the court decided to take a sample from the mother of the two brothers for comparison purposes, as this way, the prosecution would also have the main evidence against them.

Bujar Nasufi was shot to death near his apartment in front of his wife, while he was parking his vehicle.

Previously, Voltan Xhani was wanted for the execution of Elis Rroshkodoli in Shkodra, after the car used in the murder was found in his garage.

He was charged with creating the conditions to commit murder and trafficking in motor vehicles.

The Shkodra Prosecution is investigating whether there was a clash between the Xhani and Rroshkodol brothers over drug trafficking issues./ CNA
