The police have finalized Operation "In", within which a 38-year-old man was arrested for smuggling goods.

The arrested person, through the port of Durrës, attempted to smuggle 116 cell phones and 18 bottles of wine into Albania, goods which were seized.

The truck was also seized by the police, along with the arrested person's passport and cell phone.

Port, Durrës/The police operation codenamed "In" is finalized.

The 38-year-old was arrested after attempting to smuggle 116 cell phones and 18 bottles of wine into Albania by truck without declaring them.

The goods and the truck are seized, as well as the arrested person's passport and cell phone.

Following intensive entry/exit checks, the Border Police services of the port of Durrës, based on risk analysis and against illegalities at the border, carried out a check at the entrance to Albania, on the truck driven by citizen RA, 38 years old, resident of Devoll.

During the checks in the vehicle, 116 mobile phones and 18 bottles of wine were found, suspected of being smuggled for sale in Albania, because they were not equipped with purchase invoices. Citizen RA intended to bring the goods into Albania, without declaring them at the BCP, in accordance with the law.

At the conclusion of the procedural actions in this case, within the framework of Operation "In", the 38-year-old was arrested in flagrante delicto and the goods were seized as material evidence.

The procedural materials were referred to the Durrës Prosecutor's Office for further action./ CNA
