Acted contrary to the law/ 2 citizens extradited to Turkey and Greece

Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with counterpart units, carried out two extraditions today to Turkey and Greece, for two citizens who were acting in violation of the law.

A citizen convicted of violent sexual intercourse was extradited to Turkey.

A citizen accused of mediating illegal adoption was extradited to Greece.

As a result of the coordination of operational actions of Interpol Tirana with the counterparts of Interpol Ankara and Interpol Athens, the procedures for the extradition from Albania of the following citizens were finalized:

-Burak Kara, 39 years old, born in Turkey, because the Mersin Court, in 2022, sentenced this citizen to 8 years and 4 months in prison, after in 2011, while drunk, he had sexual intercourse with a Turkish citizen by force, in the apartment of another Turkish citizen, in Mersin. The 39-year-old has about 4 and a half years left to serve from the sentence;

-IA, 59 years old, born in Bulgaria, because he was declared internationally wanted by Interpol Athens, on the charge that in collaboration with others, he found pregnant women (in economic difficulties), whom he took to Greece to give birth and then mediated for the baby to be given up for adoption. From this criminal activity, this citizen is suspected of having benefited from 2000-4000 euros/case. He was arrested by the Korça Border Police services. /CNA
