Denies communications with Durim Bami/ Former officer appeals prison sentence

Former RENEA Forces officer, Altin Morina, has appealed the security measure "prison arrest" to the Appeals Court of Kosovo.

The former officer is suspected of involvement in a structured criminal group that was involved in the cultivation of cannabis.

According to SPAK, suspicions against Morina arose after the administration of several intercepted communications through the encrypted Sky ECC application, from which it is alleged that Morina had a key role in overseeing the group's illegal activity.

The former officer's lawyer has disputed this claim.

According to the lawyer, his client did not have the SKY ECC application, and that there is no direct communication in the file between Altin Morina and the much-discussed Durim Bami, another suspect in this case.

According to the defense, the file only mentions references to third parties speaking on behalf of Morina, which according to them does not constitute direct evidence of involvement in criminal activity./ CNA
