Flash operation in Peqin prison/ Items seized and 2 life convicts transferred

A search operation has included the premises of the Institution for the Execution of Criminal Decisions in Peqin, where numerous security forces have been searching for illegal items.

During this operation, high-tech monitoring technology was used, where in addition to special detectors and scanners, drones were deployed for aerial surveillance and anti-drug dogs for detailed control of every space.

Strict control was extended to all prison facilities, including residential sectors, meeting buildings, the library, gym, ventilation facilities and especially the special regime "41-bis", as well as the security belt around the institution.

As a result of the operation, law enforcement officers were able to identify and seize a number of prohibited items, including improvised cutting tools, cables, modified electrical circuits, and other prohibited materials.

Also, in one case, a suspected quantity of narcotics was identified, for which the relevant legal procedures were immediately initiated. Another important measure taken during this action was the immediate transfer of two life-sentenced prisoners, who were considered to be elements of danger to the internal security of the institution.

The General Directorate of Prisons announced that this action will not be isolated, but part of a new standard of daily work to guarantee complete order and security in all penitentiary institutions in the country./ CNA
