Considerable undeclared monetary amounts were found/ 51-year-old man in Kakavija

A 51-year-old man has been criminally prosecuted at Kakavija customs after attempting to take a significant amount of money out of Albania.

During a search of FS's 51-year-old bag, the police found 20,530 euros and 1,800,000 lek, undeclared according to the law.

Criminal proceedings were initiated against him for the offense of "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border."

The 51-year-old man was criminally prosecuted for attempting to take 20,530 euros and 1,800,000 lek out of Albania without declaring them.

The amount of money is seized.

In continuation of the work of the Border Police services, with the aim of preventing and combating crimes at the border, at the exit from Albania, a search was carried out in the bag of citizen FS, where 20,530 euros and 1,800,000 lek were found, which this citizen had not declared in accordance with the law.

Following the procedural actions in the case, the Crime Investigation specialists of the DVKM Gjirokastra referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office, where the proceedings were initiated in a free state, for the criminal offense of "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border", for the citizen FS, 51 years old, resident in Greece. Also, the amount of money was seized as material evidence. 

The procedural materials were transferred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastra, for further action.
