Murder of Judge Kalaja/ Police with official announcement: Perpetrator a party

It is learned through official sources what happened this Monday regarding the murder of judge Astrit Kalaja.

The State Police has issued a statement about the incident, sharing details from the incident.

According to the Police, the perpetrator is a citizen who is a party to the proceedings and has also injured two other people.

Police Announcement:

At around 15:40, in the premises of the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction in Tirana, during a court proceeding, it is suspected that citizen E. Sh., 30 years old (party to the proceedings) fired a firearm at the judge, citizen AK, and citizens RK, 65 years old and EK, 45 years old, his son (the other party to the proceedings). 

As a result, citizen AK lost his life and citizens RK and E. K were injured, but their lives are out of danger.

Upon receiving the notification, the Police Services immediately went to the scene and made it possible to capture and escort to the premises of the Tirana Police Department, the suspected perpetrator, citizen E. Sh., and seized the crime weapon.
