The forensic expert said that Liridona Ademaj was killed from a distance of 2-5

A forensic expert told the court that Liridona Ademaj was killed from a distance of 2 to 5 centimeters in 2023, as he gave his testimony on Monday in a hearing in the trial against Naim Murseli, Kushtrim Kokalla and Granit Plava.

Naim Uka - who performed the autopsy of the now deceased Liridona Ademaj - said at the Basic Court in Pristina that "during the examination of the entry wound, we found around the entry hole the presence of additional factors of the shooting, which also caused skin burns with the presence of gunpowder particles."

"Based on this forensic evidence, it has been determined that the shooting distance is between 2 and 5 centimeters," Uka said, according to "Oath for Justice."

Liridona Ademaj was killed at the age of 30 on November 29, 2023 on a street in the village of Bërnicë, Pristina.

Her husband Naim Murseli, as well as Granit Plava and Kushtim Kokalla, are on trial for her murder. Murseli and Kokalla have pleaded not guilty, while Plava has refused to plead guilty.

Forensic expert Uka further told the court that the wound was triangular in shape, which was accompanied by multiple fractures.

"Even in this case, we have examined both hands of the deceased, so that, based on the presence or absence of additional factors of the shooting and blood stains, the possibility that she used a weapon or committed suicide has been eliminated," he said.

The trial in this case began at the beginning of this year, while in the last session, Liridona's brother, Leonard Ademaj, testified, saying that Murseli's behavior immediately after the murder had shocked their family.

The indictment charges Mursel with planning the murder of his wife for the purpose of revenge and financial gain from a life insurance policy in Sweden, in the amount of approximately 260 thousand euros.

According to the Prosecution, Murseli planned the murder in collaboration with Kushtrim Kokalla and Granit Plava, promising them a reward of 30 thousand euros to carry out the crime.

Kokalla is accused of having introduced Mursel to the Plava agent.

Plava is accused of committing the murder.

The murder of Liridona Ademaj caused public outrage, especially after her husband attended the funeral.

The family requested the exhumation of her body to bury it in the Ademaj family cemetery.

Since 2010, around 60 women have been killed in Kosovo - most by their husbands./REL
