Murder of Judge Kalaja/Author testifies: Here's why I shot in the courtroom

Details emerge from the first testimony of the perpetrator of the murder of Judge Astrit Kalaja.

It is learned that the perpetrator, identified as Elvis Shkëmbi, 30, has given his first statements after the murder at Police Station Number 1 in the capital.

The perpetrator stated that he shot at the judge because he was losing the trial.

 "I shot him because I was losing a trial. I was correct with my papers," he testified at Police Station Number 1.

The incident occurred at around 3:40 p.m., at the premises of the Tirana Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction, during a court proceeding.

According to the official announcement from the State Police, the perpetrator also shot at two other people present in the hall, who were injured./CNA
