December 28 elections/ CEC completes counting of votes outside Kosovo

The Central Election Commission (CEC) announces that on Saturday afternoon, at around 4:00 PM, the process of counting ballots from voting outside Kosovo was completed, at 40 polling stations of diplomatic missions.

Voting took place on December 27, 2025, in 29 diplomatic missions in 18 countries, where out of 19,187 registered voters, 16,165, or 84.24%, participated.

Also, on Saturday, the counting of postal ballots that were brought to Kosovo began. Over 28,500 packages of ballots were withdrawn from CEC mailboxes abroad, in Berlin and Bern, and verified by the CEC voting service.

Of these packages, 27,600 were approved for counting, while over 950 were rejected mainly due to lack of a voter registration certificate.

27,600 envelopes with presumed valid ballots will be included in the counting process.

On December 27, 2025, voting took place in 29 diplomatic missions, in 18 different countries. Out of 19,187 registered citizens, 16,165, or 84.24%, voted.
Also, during Saturday, the CEC began counting ballots for voting by mail that have so far been brought to Kosovo.
The day before, more than 28,500 packages of ballots were withdrawn from the two CEC mailboxes outside Kosovo, in Berlin and Bern, which were evaluated and verified by the CEC voting service.
Of the more than 28,000 packages received, after evaluation and verification, 27,600 were approved, while over 950 were rejected.
The main reason for the rejection was the lack of a voter registration certificate in the package with the ballot.
