Implementation of the Law on Foreigners in Kosovo/ Vu?i?: Larger conflicts in

Serbian President Aleksandar Vu?i? has reacted to the implementation of the Law on Foreigners in Kosovo. Vu?i? said that the decision of the Kosovo government is a relief for the Serbian people. He also thanked the Europeans for avoiding any escalation.

"Even though there are no nice and easy solutions, different interpretations and everything else, this is still a relief for them. I am grateful for the efforts of the Europeans who wanted to avoid a catastrophe and bigger conflicts at this moment," Vu?i? said.

The Kosovo government, after a meeting with the EU envoy for dialogue, Peter Sorensen, agreed that members of the undocumented Kosovo Serb community will be able to obtain a 12-month temporary residence permit, as well as temporarily have ID cards issued by the Serbian authorities as a means of identification. 

Meanwhile, after this decision, the European Union's foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, also reacted, saying that she is ready to mediate a high-level meeting between Kosovo and Serbia soon. /CNA
