Iran's minister warns: If our energy facilities are attacked, American

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned that his country will respond to any attack on Iranian energy facilities by targeting American companies in the region.

"If Iranian facilities are targeted, our forces will target facilities of American companies in the region or companies in which the United States has shares," Araghchi said, according to international media.

Among other things, he stated that caution will be exercised to avoid affecting densely populated areas.

"We will definitely respond to these attacks, while at the same time acting with caution so that densely populated areas are not targeted ," he said. 

The minister's statement comes after the US military targeted Kharg Island, which is of strategic importance to Iran, as it is thought that around 90% of its oil exports pass through the island. /CNA
