Von der Leyen: 1.4 billion euros will be invested in Albania for clean energy

The President of the EC, Ursula von der Leyen, spoke at the joint conference with Prime Minister Edi Rama about investments in Albania.

Von der Leyen said that investments of 1.4 billion euros have been mobilized in Albania with a focus on clean energy transition.

Also, she stated that there is also a plan of 50 million euros for energy efficiency, for charging electric cars, as well as plans for electric buses for Tirana.

"The plan for investments in the Western Balkans. In Albania, investments of 1.4 billion euros have been mobilized with a focus on the clean energy transition. It is important that our partners are part of this initiative, but for Albania it will not be a very big challenge because you are a leader in this field, so we are working with you on projects that can strengthen this leadership. In the field of renewable energy, for example, we have the hydropower plant of Vau te Deja, the first in the region.
