Shooting in Ireland: 3 members of a family killed, including 2 children

Irish authorities announced today that a shooting in Northern Ireland left three members of a family dead, including two children, and another seriously injured.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland said there was no ongoing risk to the public from the shooting outside the village of Maguiresbridge in County Fermanagh, located about 120 kilometers southwest of Belfast.

Police and paramedics were called to an address in the village just after 7am local time. Two people were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two others were taken to hospitals, where one later died. The fourth, an adult man, was in serious condition, police said.

No arrests have been made. Police said they had launched a murder investigation. /CNA
