Andrey Vorobyev, the governor of the Moscow region, says the death toll in the Crocus Concert Hall attack could "significantly rise".

So far, it is reported that at least 115 people have lost their lives. More than 140 others were injured and sixteen of them are still in an "extremely serious condition", including a child, Russian authorities say.

A hotline has also been opened for relatives of the victims to find out "the location and condition of relatives hospitalized in Moscow city medical institutions," reports Russian state news agency Tass.

Russian authorities have launched an investigation into the incident and four people who were directly involved in the attack on the concert hall in Moscow are among the 11 arrested.

The attack has been claimed by the Islamic State, but Russian authorities point out that 4 of the 11 arrested "intended to cross over to Ukraine" and had "contacts with the Ukrainian side".

That statement has been denied by Ukraine, where Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, said his country had "absolutely nothing to do with these events"./ CNA
