The four attackers, who were arrested in the Bryansk region for Friday's attack, "intended to cross into Ukraine" and had "contacts with the Ukrainian side," the Russian security agency said, according to Russian state news agency Ria Novosti.

Western media reports that it was widely expected that Russia would try to link Ukraine to the attack, and the FSB's claim at this stage cannot be independently verified.

Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, categorically denied Ukraine's involvement, saying his country had "absolutely nothing to do with these events".

Meanwhile, Interpol is ready to provide support in the investigation of the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall, the organization's Secretary General Jurgen Stock said on the X social network.

"I strongly condemn the attack on the town hall of Crocus, which was a terrible act against innocent civilians. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families and friends. Interpol is ready to provide support to the investigation carried out by the Russian authorities," he expressed.

The death toll from the attack in Moscow has risen to at least 93. More than 140 others were injured in Crocus City Hall, according to the FSB Federal Security Service. The attack was claimed by the Islamic State. /CNA
