Attack in Moscow/At least 60 victims, ISIS takes over the assassination

At least 60 people were killed when gunmen stormed a packed concert venue on the outskirts of Moscow. The BBC reports that more than 100 others were injured at the Crocus town hall, according to the Federal Security Service FSB.

A dramatic video shows panicked attendees taking cover as gunshots and explosions are heard at the concert. 

The Islamic State (IS) has claimed responsibility for the attack on several Telegram channels linked to it.

China's President Xi Jinping has sent his "condolences" to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin over the attack on Crocus City Hall, the state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

Xi "stressed that China opposes all forms of terrorism, strongly condemns the terrorist attack, and strongly supports the Russian government's efforts to protect its national security and stability," the statement said.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi meanwhile condemned the "terrible terrorist attack", adding that his country stands "in solidarity with the government and people of the Russian Federation in this hour of grief"./ CNA
