How the Israeli secret service Mossad is recruiting Iranians through the internet

The Israeli secret service Mossad has intensified efforts to recruit Iranian citizens as informants through social networks and the internet, especially in the context of tensions and conflict with Iran.

Mossad has created channels on platforms such as 'Telegram', 'X' (Twitter), 'Instagram', 'Facebook' and 'LinkedIn'.

A Persian-language channel on Telegram was opened in late December and has tens of thousands of followers.

Messages such as invitations for cooperation, instructions for secure communication, and requests for sending information from inside Iran are published on these channels.

This strategy is not new, as intelligence services have been using media and technology for influence and recruitment for decades. In this case, Mossad is adapting this practice to modern digital tools./CNA
