The President of North Macedonia, Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, held an extraordinary press conference following the tragedy at the Kocani discotheque, where 59 people lost their lives.

Davkova said that the injured people who are in serious condition have been sent for treatment abroad, mainly to Sofia, Istanbul or Greece.

The Macedonian President said that they will be forever grateful to the countries that have offered assistance in the aftermath of the tragedy. She also hoped that human lives would never again be sacrificed for the benefit of a few individuals.

"I know and feel that we are not alone. Everyone has reported, not only our neighbors, but also the most distant countries. The most seriously injured are in Sofia, Istanbul, Greece, Serbia to receive high-quality medical care. We will be eternally grateful for this help. Let us join forces, let us never sacrifice for the benefit of individuals again, nothing is more valuable than the life of a young person ," said the president.
