A serious tragedy has occurred in North Macedonia, where 50 people have lost their lives and many others have been injured after a fire broke out in a nightclub filled with about 1,500 young people.
The incident occurred during a party, when the fire broke out, causing chaos and panic among the young people. According to local media reports, it is suspected that the cause of the explosion of the flames was the use of pyrotechnics during a musical performance by the Macedonian band DNA.
Firefighters, ambulances, and police authorities immediately arrived at the scene, but unfortunately, most of the victims suffered serious injuries and were unable to escape.
Macedonian authorities have launched investigations to determine the exact cause of the fire, but it is suspected that the use of pyrotechnics inside the club's cramped premises caused the explosion. The Kocani Prosecutor's Office has announced that several people, who organized the party and managed the club's security, have been arrested and will be investigated for responsibility for the tragic event.
Regarding the injured, they were immediately transported to hospitals in Stip and Skopje, where they are receiving medical treatment. Authorities are committed to providing assistance and support to the survivors and the families of the victims. /CNA
