107 thousand protesters/ Closed after four hours of massive protests in Belgrade

It closes after about four hours of mass protests in Belgrade. The many protesters gathered observed 15 minutes of silence for the 15 victims of Novi Sad.

Thousands of students arrived in the Serbian capital from other cities in the country on Friday evening. Many people gathered near the Serbian Parliament and traffic was blocked in the area. The protesters, mostly students, held flags of Serbia, their universities and symbols of their cities.

The Presidency building was "armored" with a police cordon, while the protesters called on the officers to join them. Today's protest also had incidents, where some hooligans attacked the organizers of the protest.

A statement from the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs said that around 107,000 protesters were present.

The protests, which have been going on for more than three months, followed the tragedy at the Novi Sad railway station in which 15 people lost their lives. Protesters are demanding political and criminal accountability for the loss of lives./ CNA
