Earthquakes in Crete/ Tremors recorded in two areas of the island

Two earthquakes struck the island of Crete today. The first tremors were recorded at 17:40 local time, with a magnitude of 4.8 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was approximately 70 kilometers south-southwest of Chrysi in the Lasithi region, with a focal depth of 24.7 kilometers.

The second earthquake was recorded at 18:38 local time, with a magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of this earthquake was 23 kilometers south-southwest of Palaiochora in the Chania region, at a depth of 10 kilometers.

According to reports from Greek media, both earthquakes were felt in different parts of Crete. So far, there are no reports of damage or injuries from these earthquakes. /CNA
