Tragedy with 59 victims in Kocani/ Survivors recount the horror they experienced

According to Macedonian media outlet Alsat, the situation in the courtyard of the Kocani hospital is tense. Family members are demanding at all costs to retrieve the bodies of their relatives who lost their lives in the fire at the "Puls" discotheque.

Pain, sadness, tears, and fear are visible in the eyes of family members waiting to receive information about the health status of their loved ones. Among them were survivors of the fire who told the media about the horror they experienced.

"It happened so fast, I don't remember how I got hurt and how I got to the hospital.. I have burns on my head and hands.

-Unfortunately yes.
Did you pull someone with you? Did you help or were you helped?
I don't remember anything, I just know that a firefighter pulled me and then I don't know anything more.
-Do you know what time it happened?
-I think around 3:30, something like that, everything happened so fast.
Are you injured by the crowds or by the burns?
No, by the burns, " said a survivor.

 

The families of some of those present at the discotheque continue to have no information about their fate.

Another survivor said they cannot find his sister in any hospital in the country.

" Everyone started running towards the exit. Everyone was looking for a way to save their lives. No one was conscious, bodies were burned. Everyone was under stress. My sister is missing, we can't find her in any hospital.... Coming out I fell to the ground and people stepped on me ," said one survivor.

The President of the Red Cross, Sait Saiti, said that there is currently no need for blood donations, but the team will continue to be on the ground for several days./ CNA
