The United States is withdrawing some personnel from bases...
A delegation from Denmark and Greenland was welcomed to the White House today, after US President Donald Trump reiterated once again that he wants to take control of the large Arctic island.
Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen and his Greenlandic counterpart Viviane Motzfeldt left the White House shortly before 12:00 local time. They had arrived an hour and a half earlier for talks with US Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
There was no official statement from either side after the meeting.
Trump did not participate in the talks, but before the meeting began he wrote on the 'Social Truth' platform that the US needs Greenland for national security reasons, it is vital for the Golden Dome.
This was the first time Trump linked the invasion of the autonomous Danish territory to the colossal American missile shield project. /CNA
