The new composition of the Serbian government: Dacic, Minister of the Interior,

The mandate for the formation of the Government of Serbia, Miloš Vu?evi?, proposed on Monday the names of the new ministers in the cabinet.

As he warned, his Government will consist of 25 ministers and five ministers without portfolio.

Aleksandar Vulin, the former head of the intelligence service, who has been under the sanctions of the United States of America since July 2023, will return to the position of deputy prime minister - among other things, due to ties with Russia.

The current head of Serbian diplomacy, Ivica Dacic, will lead the Ministry of Internal Affairs, while the Minister of Defense will be Bratislav Gasic, until now the Minister of Police.

Marko Gjuric, former ambassador of Serbia to the US and former director of the Office for Kosovo in Serbia, will join the Government as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Another official from the "black list" of the USA, due to ties with Russia, Nenad Popovic, will also be part of the Government as a minister without portfolio.

"Zavetnici" in the government

Millica Gjurgjevic Stamenkovski, head of the right-wing party, Zavetnici, will head the Ministry for Family Care.

This party, until now, has acted in the opposition, but, after the elections of December 17, it started cooperation with the Serbian Progressive Party, which is in power.

As her partner in the coalition, she will also participate in the next local elections in Serbia, which will be held on June 2.

The new ministers of the Serbian Government include the former State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, Nemanja Starovi?, as Minister of Labour, Darko Gllishi? as Minister of Public Investments and Dejan Risti? as Minister of Information.

Zllatibor Llonçar will return to the head of the Ministry of Health, who did not hold this position in the previous composition, while the Ministry of Culture will be taken by Nikolla Selakovi?.

The current Minister of State Administration and Local Self-Government, Aleksandar Martinovi?, will lead the Ministry of Agriculture.

The new Minister of State Administration and Local Self-Government will be Jellena Zharic Kova?evi?, while Adrijana Mesarovi? will be the Minister of Economy.

Who held the ministries?

Sinisha Malli remains in charge of the Ministry of Finance, as well as Irena Vujovi? as Minister of Ecology and Dubravka Gjedovi? Handanovi? as Minister of Mines and Energy.

The Minister of Justice remains Maja Popovi? and the Minister of Construction remains Goran Vesi?. Tomislav Momirovi? also holds the portfolio of Internal and Foreign Trade.

Tanja Mishqevi? remains the Minister for European Integration, while Slavica Gjuki? Dejanovi? will again be the Minister of Education.

Jellena Begovi? will be the Minister of Science in this composition as well, while Millan Zare?babi? will continue to lead the Ministry for Care of the Villages.

Tomislav Zhigmanov will be the leader of the Ministry for Human Rights and Minorities in this mandate, while Zoran Gajic will be the Minister of Sports again.

Husein Memiq, meanwhile, remains in charge of the Ministry of Tourism and Youth.

In addition to Nenad Popovi?, the new Serbian Government will have four other ministers without portfolio. They are: Novica Ton?ev, Gjorgje Milliqeviq, Usame Zukorlliq and Tatjana Macura.

Ton?ev and Milliqevi?, officials of the Socialist Party of Serbia, were ministers without portfolio even in the last composition of the Government.

The former Minister of Culture, Maja Gojkovic, was proposed for the chair of the Provincial Government of Vojvodina./REL
