Serbian oppositionists demand clarification on Serbia's role in Banjska

During the first session of the autumn session, on October 23, a part of the opposition deputies in the Assembly of Serbia raised the issue of the role of the Serbian leadership in the attack in Banjska in the north of Kosovo.

On September 24, an armed group of Serbs attacked the Kosovo Police in Banjska in Zveçan, killing Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku. Three Serbian attackers were also killed during the clashes.

Kosovo has blamed Serbia for the attack, but the latter has denied any involvement.

The responsibility for the attack in Banjska has been taken by Millan Radoicic, the former vice-president of Lista Serbe, the largest party of Serbs in Kosovo, which has the support of Belgrade.

"Therefore, let us now ask [the director of the Security and Information Agency - BIA, Aleksandar] Vulin, [the president of Serbia, Aleksandar] Vu?i?, and [Serbian Minister of Internal Affairs, Bratislava] Gasi?, how is it possible that he did not you knew what Radoicic was doing in Banjska with people armed with machine guns, rifles that no city in Serbia is allowed to keep privately", said Nebojsha Zellenovic, co-chairman of the opposition party Together, as he addressed the deputies in the plenary session.

Meanwhile, the head of the Parliamentary Group of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) in power, Millenko Jovanov, responded by saying that Zellenovic blames the Serbs for everything, without looking at the responsibility of the other party.

"He says it's terrible that Aleksandar Vucic didn't know anything, but for him it's not terrible that three Serbs died. He never said that," said Jovanov.

A part of the opposition in Serbia has requested an urgent session of the Assembly on October 3, in which, through the formation of the Investigative Commission, the responsibility of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, as well as the role of Milan Radoicic, for the events in Banjska would be determined. . However, such a proposal was not accepted.

This development comes on the day when the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, said that the attack in Banjska was carried out by the "Klan of Novi Sad, led by the Minister of Defense of Serbia, Miloš Vu?evi?".

"Two decades ago, the Clan of Zemun ruled in Serbia, but now the Clan of Novi Sad has taken its place. Criminals in war, criminals in peace; criminals in Serbia, criminals in Kosovo. The president of the state, Aleksandar Vu?i?, as a capo-di-tutti-capi, is there to prove that although crime dictates the state, in fact, it is the state that dictates crime," Kurti wrote on Facebook on Monday.

Vu?evi? rejected the statements of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, as "completely disgusting and flagrant lies".

Kosovo has requested that an international investigation be carried out for Serbia, in order to determine Belgrade's role in the attack that Prishtina describes as terrorist.

The United States and the European Union have strongly condemned the attack and demanded that those responsible face justice./ REL
