Between pain and hope/ Prince William confesses

The year 2023 has been described by Prince William as the most difficult period of his life.

During a conversation with reporters at the end of the visit to South Africa, he shared his emotions about the news that his wife, Kate Middleton, and his father, King Charles, were diagnosed with cancer.

"It was a terrible period. Probably the most challenging year I've ever experienced," said Prince William.

However, he stressed that he was proud of the brave and dignified way in which Kate and the King faced their health challenges.

Buckingham Palace announced in February that King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer and had begun treatment. Just six weeks later, it was revealed that the Princess of Wales was undergoing chemotherapy. According to William, now Kate's condition has improved.

"It's been really hard on the family, yes, it's been brutal," Prince William said. When asked about the condition of the Princess, he smiled and said: “She is fine. It's doing great.”
