The Assembly continues its constitutive session tomorrow

The Assembly of Kosovo has announced on its website that it will hold the continuation of the constitutive session on October 10 at 10:00.

He has only one item on the agenda: the election of the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly from the Serbian community.

The Assembly's announcement comes one day after the publication of the full Constitutional Court judgment regarding this process.

The court concluded that the election of the vice-president from among the Serb community is necessary for the completion of the constitution of the Kosovo Assembly.

According to her, the package vote for the deputy speakers of the Assembly is not mandatory, but can be carried out by agreement between parliamentary groups.

The Serbian List - the largest party of Kosovo Serbs that enjoys the support of Belgrade - had complained precisely about this point of the procedure, assessing that the failure to vote in a package of two deputy mayors from minorities constituted a violation.

The Assembly has already elected the president, three Albanian vice-presidents, and the vice-president from the non-Serb minority, but has failed to elect one from the Serb minority - despite the endless extensions of the session that began on April 15.

MPs will now have 12 days, according to the order of the country's highest court, to elect the Serbian deputy president and finally form the new Parliament./ REL
