The Slovenian prime minister resigns, the country faces political uncertainty

Eduard Heger, the prime minister of Slovakia, has resigned. "Euronews" writes that his resignation has been submitted to President Zuzqana Caputova after the resignations of the ministers of the led government weakened his cabinet.

The political situation in Slovakia has become uncertain after the resignation of the interim prime minister. 

Heger spoke during a public appearance, saying that the president had not accepted his proposals to resolve the country's current political impasse. He would lead the country until new elections expected at the end of September.

Polls show that the public favors the largest opposition party, which is led by former prime minister Robert Fico.

"I decided to ask the president to remove my authority and leave room for the president to try with a technocrat government to lead Slovakia in a stable and peaceful way towards democratic parliamentary elections," he said.

Agriculture Minister Samuel Vican resigned on Thursday following a case involving a 1.4 million euro subsidy to his company.
