Two top Republicans in Congress are seeking internal FBI documents after an unnamed whistleblower claims the documents will show then-Vice President Joe Biden was involved in a criminal scheme with a foreign national.

The unverified claim, described in a letter, was signed by James Komer, chairman of the House Oversight Committee. 

According to the Republicans' letter, they received information about the criminal scheme from a "reliable source".

 They claim that Biden was involved in the corruption scheme by "making political decisions for money" during his time as vice president. Besides him, a foreign citizen is also included in it.

Comer requested "all FD-1023 forms, including any open, closed, or restricted access case files created or modified in June 2020 that contain the term 'Biden,' including all accompanying attachments and documents on those FD-1023 forms.”

The form in question, an FD-1023, is a document the FBI uses to document meetings or information gathered from confidential sources. The document usually includes claims from the source, including information not verified by the FBI, writes CNN .

"We believe the FBI is in possession of an unclassified internal document that includes very serious and detailed allegations implicating the current President of the United States. What we don't know is what, if anything, the FBI has done to verify these allegations or investigate further," Grassley, an Iowa Republican, said in a news release, adding that the situation requires congressional oversight./ CNA.al
