Germany condemns attack on UNIFIL/ calls on Hezbollah to hand over weapons

Germany has condemned an attack on a UN peacekeeping mission (UNIFIL) in Lebanon, which killed a French soldier and injured three others, two of whom are in serious condition.

"Our sincere condolences go to the family and friends of the fallen soldier," the German Foreign Ministry said in a statement on the "X" platform.

The response also calls for the perpetrators of the attack to be held accountable. Among other things, the German ministry demands that the Shiite militant group Hezbollah, which is linked to Iran, hand over its weapons. /CNA
