Kiev is shaken / A person opens fire inside a supermarket, there are casualties and injuries

A shooting attack occurred today in Kiev. A gunman opened fire at a supermarket in the Ukrainian capital, killing six people and injuring others.

Ukraine's Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said the gunman was killed during an attempt to arrest him. 

"The gunman was killed during his arrest in Kiev," Klymenko said on social media, adding that the suspect had taken people hostage and shot at police officers during the arrest.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also reacted to the event, expressing his condolences to the families of the victims.

The motive for the attack is still unknown, while Zelensky has announced that investigations have been launched to clarify the full circumstances of the serious incident. /CNA
