France responds to Trump: Will not participate in operations in the Strait of Hormuz

French President Emmanuel Macron said his country would not be involved in operations in the Strait of Hormuz amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Speaking at the Council of Ministers meeting, Macron stressed that France is not a party to the conflict and, for this reason, "will not participate in operations to open or liberate the Strait of Hormuz under the current conditions."

He explained that any possible involvement could only be considered after the end of hostilities. According to him, Paris is preparing to create an alliance that will guarantee freedom of navigation in the area once stability is restored.

Macron added that, if the clashes stop, France is ready to contribute to a naval escort mission in the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing that such an operation would also require coordination with Iran.

At the same time, he underlined that any future mission must be completely separate from the current conflict situation.
