A rather touching photo posted on Facebook by the Kapsiotis Veterinary Clinic in Trikala is making the rounds on the internet and shows a lost dog lying just before the Karavoporos bridge. The animal has escaped the floods in the area and seems to be waiting for its caretaker.

The situation is desperate in almost the entire Trikalla prefecture area after the flood of bad weather Daniel. 

Major damage was caused in many villages in the prefecture, such as in Drosero, just outside the city, where water reached a height of up to 1.5 meters, covering roads, cars and even the first floors of houses.

At the same time, tons of water fell into the Pinios River and caused flooding of crops.

And in the midst of all this, countless animals have disappeared. Stray animals have lost their usual shelters and other animals are looking for their guardians.
